Slack
OVERVIEW
JPL uses Slack for team communication across the company. Slack brands itself as team communication for the 21st century and it is just that. At JPL, we use Slack for 2 main purposes:
Project Channels – On many projects, JPL finds value in creating a slack channel. This is a channel created by an administrator for the sole purpose of project communication. Slack allows the team to communicate as if they were physically in the same room in a true chat room fashion. Post questions, documents, issues, news or announcements in your project channel. We’ve found this to be a great way to work!
Direct Messages – Slack allows you to replace all forms of messaging either by PC or mobile platform with one simple tool. Slack allows us to communicate directly with one another or have group conversations in digital space.
